Insufficient disk space

I really don’t know why, I don’t know how, but somewhere, something went horribly wrong. I have run out of power cables and have 4 hard drives running in Miko (my workstation) now. Fortunately, I have found a way to make the disks do something useful, because it’s way too much disk space than I need to fill. I’m considering to do an OS install on the first disk and make the remainder of disks run as a RAID5 setup. Miko has strangely been degraded from high-end workstation to TV/fileserver (mediacenter). Unfortunately there are no drivers for the wintv card for w2k3, so it’s rather pointless to install w2k3 or even w2k8.

Another unfortunate side-effect of Miko sitting besides the bed is that clothes tend to stack on her, blocking the air flow, meaning poor little Miko overheats quite fast (even after having installed an extra cooler) and hangs herself to prevent heat damage. When the availability allows me, I’m going to move Miko closer to the router and place a smalltower under the bed and install the wintv card in there.

(update: I bought a file storage appliance running RAID1, so Miko is now back to being a happy TV and doesn’t crash all that often anymore)
