City hall, 2 months

I’ve been very lax about updating my site for the past 2 months. It has had everything to do with how much I enjoyed working at a city hall (as temp again). Apart that I could really use the money (bought myself a Vostro :) ), it has been an enormous relief how things move over there in contrast to the Ad:Gen matter I was shelled up against before.

The first day on the job, 2 mails (the first had a few typo’s, so my colleague sent it again) went around the place with my picture on it, so that everyone would know a new admin was in town. Everyone just kept greeting me at every 5 meters. Although it may seem a lot of time “wasted”, it does create a positive atmosphere that improves work and cohesion between the team. With the Ad:Gen project, it was a club of 30 grumpy people on a stack, resulting in “the best” that the best individuals could do individually. In other words: A major waste of time.

There’s quite a lot of things I enjoyed there, but I’d have to go in to details, but I’m feeling rather lazy right now (negative influence of grumpy faces all around). Maybe some other day. In the meantime, some tunes (reasonable this time) to get the mood up again after this frustrating day.

@AGM: I got the letter Jacques and the rest sent. :)
