And I would walk 6.21371192 miles and I would walk 6.21371192 more. To be the man who walked 12.42742384 miles to drop the food right on the floor.
I might not be the best musician, but the Duinenmars was fun. Thankfully the weather prediction changed from snow and hail (prediction 2 days ago) to clouded, but dry weather. So instead of 15 kilometers, we walked 10 to spare my hun’s knees and not tempt fate. But at least I got a shiny medal this year. (I didn’t walk for the medal last year)
Gideon and the chi’s had fun too, even though we wouldn’t even let them harass the Labrador. Oh well.

Alright, when I pull an April fools joke, it’s often around midnight so that people don’t have their guards up yet. If I phone you that your site got hacked at 00:12, that’d be my worst joke yet. If the site starts showing purple with green text…that’d be me wanting to annoy your eyes as soon as you wake up and check your site. In short, I had a lot of fun.
And although people tried to punk me as well (double reservation for conference room, downing a database), none of it has caught me off-guard.
Apart from the railway not riding because of cables being broken, adding 30 minutes to my travel time and making me miss the debate with Wilders.
Now, the “movie” (PowerPoint Presentation with wrong filetype is more the term) has gotten a debate. I wanted to see the debate because I feel a bit sadistic and the people there will throw around trash over nothing. Nothing whatsoever. Perhaps I’m down to earth on things, but people there should smell the coffee and wake the hell up and do serious stuff instead of whining over a half baked presentation. But it’s fun anyway.

I’m still on a diet. I’m still trying to eat more than anyone else. I’m really doing fine.
But how the hell am I going to make dim sum if there’s a cat in the steamer basket? (on second hand…don’t the Chinese put cats in their food anyway?)

Speeches can be fun. Especially if you have to say something about every person on the team. But then something has to be said about me. The strange person in black, long hair, loving code, being the silent kind of guy.
Seriously, I do weird stuff all the time. Some are so enormous that you can’t go without noticing it such as that thing in India. But of all the things people can think about me and do think about me. Things that I’ve done and what people have read about me…
Why the hell bring up that I travel for hours each day? If that is the only thing you know about me and need to do a speech about me, it pays off reading a bit here and make a joke about my biggest code failures (I remember someone calling me King of the Nested Loops. I’m sure that works) or one of the pictures of me (I remember some dude photoshopping me in to a dress years ago) that tell a tale about stupidities of times past.
But now, I am the very very patient man who spends two and a half hours from work to get home to hug his loving girl. I can tell you this: Up and down that track is 1 battery worth of a GameBoy SP. (Sebe, Ich habe noch immer deine SP! Meinz!
)

I’m really interested about this whole “super mode” of IE8 that’s supposed to do the W3C style correctly. Perhaps I misread the “renders ACID2 correctly”, but the W3C compliant implementation of flash still doesn’t want to render. It does seem to load for ages, but won’t work whatsoever.
I know it’s just a beta, so some functions might be a bit off. I guess I’ll look a bit closer later.

Sure. An eventHandler for a doubleClick event in JAVA. I’ve seen one, but that was in JUnit in the Swing classes for test purposes. There is no such thing as a doubleClick event. Just a mouseClicked event which is fired from the mouseListener. You can count them, use a timer and throw it through an if.
But I got told on monday as a little challenge to do it without an if. Although I know full well I can use a case as a glorified if, but other than that, there is no reasonable way of doing a doubleClick event.
Read the buglist of Sun. Checked with some people. Just doesn’t happen. So after getting everyone’s minds in check, it’s time to grab that tiger by the tail and HANG ON!

I went to the fantasy fair today with stepson and fiancee. It was great, aside from the ATM not working there (no, for a change it wasn’t me) which resulted in me walking quite a long way to find the nearest working ATM with a lot of people wearing black.
The fair was “everything you black heart desires”. People were showing off their black clothes. Be it by wearing punk rock clothing, wearing cute gothic clothes or complete outfits. (we even saw an Imperial Stormtrooper, which is quite out-of-place)

Apart from that the people were in great moods and were all dashing about to get their favourite potion, find that special weapon or just to watch what the whole thing was about, there were also some great things like a live band playing and a pageant for gothic clothing lines (Attitude was there. Couldn’t find Large/EMP though).

Of course, there was also a lot of LARP (Life Action RolePlaying) going on and we were able to see a great swordfight going on and even had the chance to shoot a few arrows ourselves.

In the end, we went home with a lot of toys (although the handbinds were too expensive
), knowledge about things we want in our new house later and a few new friends such as a girl who held a board above her head saying “Hug me please” (which I kindly obliged with
) and a woman with a rodent on her shoulder.

I brought my mom’s Chihuahua home yesterday evening. She went on a cruise and she didn’t want to leave the dog with my little brother (which I can understand).
Now, I want to remind that this particular Chihuahua is the one whose paw I accidentally broke and still kept running. It has gone fat and spoiled, but my mom finds it necessary to go as far as make it sound like the dog is made of glass.
Apart from that the dog got what it deserved (clawed by the cat, taken care of by the other dogs we own, etc), I think she’s completely overreacting. Apart from that, it still looks incredibly wrong when I go by train with the dog dangling out of the backpack looking at the crowd (attracting lots of “awww, cuuuuute” reactions) while wearing my still black outfit.

You take the train to pick someone up, wearing pitch black clothes and black coat and sunglasses (the sun broke through
) and as always looking as evil as you feel. Find out that the person you’re picking up a “sweet lolita” style girl. Oh, the contradictions there. She’s a great girl, not to let any mistake slip in, but it looks really wrong and we indeed got a bit of eyes directed at us.
Now, if that wrong wasn’t wrong enough, you get her to your home (she’s 18 thus a bit young, she has a boyfriend and I have a fiancee. I’ll bring rope next time. 0:) ) and then go to the local gothic store to browse for stuff. My fiancee took the black chihuahua with us and landed in a promotion dance of two guys that had their face completely pierced and makeup and everything (and a mask to cover it up afterwards, it seemed) and when we walked by, they went in to uber-cute mode.
Of course, the day is short as we can’t let an 18 year old sweet lolita girl go home in the dark and sent her home with some wan tan things.

The ZEN list of programs is extensive. We have JBuilder 1.0, 3, 2005 and 2007. Of course, someone who doesn’t know where the versions are stashed, may get in trouble.
Today has been filled with sadistic pleasure, watching my partner fight JBuilder 1.0 for 10 minutes until he found version 3 (dates back to 1999) and continued his struggle for an additional hour of clicking through errors and memory violations.
After the hour, he went screaming mad and decided I could do the coding for today, after which I booted up 2007. It’s too much information in there for my liking (perhaps I should move backwards to Eclipse straight up), but at least it doesn’t turn me screaming mad in a hurry.
Or perhaps it has to do with the common known fact that I am a madman to begin with.
